Merauke Sugar Group is an integrated sugar industry and an officially designated National Strategic Project (Proyek Strategis Nasional), located in Merauke Regency, South Papua Province, Indonesia.

The project aims to achieve self-sufficiency in sugar and bioethanol production, contributing to national food and energy security in line with the strategic priorities of the Government of Indonesia.

Aligned with these objectives, Merauke Sugar Group plays an important role in strengthening the local economy and advancing Indonesia’s agricultural capabilities, while driving regional economic growth, job creation, and sustainable development in Eastern Indonesia.

Pasuruan, April 29, 2026 — PT Global Papua Abadi, part of Merauke Sugar Group which is included in the National Strategic Project, participated in the 2026 National Sugar Technology Meeting organized by the Indonesian Sugar Experts Association (IKAGI) in Pasuruan, East Java.
