GLOBAL PAPUA ABADI STRENGTHENS COMMITMENT TO NATIONAL SUGAR INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT AT THE 2026 IKAGI FORUM

Pasuruan, April 29, 2026 — PT Global Papua Abadi, part of the Merauke Sugar Group, which is included in the National Strategic Project, participated in the 2026 National Sugar Technology Meeting organized by the Indonesian Sugar Experts Association (IKAGI) in Pasuruan, East Java. This annual forum serves as a platform for stakeholders to share insights on industry challenges and technological developments within the sugar sector. During the presentation session, representatives from the Indonesian Sugar Research Institute (P3GI) stated that climate conditions in 2026 are still influenced by the transition dynamics of El Niño and La Niña, which have the potential to affect sugarcane growth, land productivity, and sugar yield quality. This situation requires readiness and adaptive strategies from industry players. Additionally, the implementation of modern farming was highlighted as a strategic step to increase productivity and improve labor efficiency through the integration of technology in the plantation sector.
