MERAUKE SUGAR GROUP CELEBRATES INDONESIA’S 81st INDEPENDENCE DAY FROM JAKARTA TO MERAUKE
Jakarta and Merauke, 31 August 2026 — The spirit of independence was felt across Merauke Sugar Group (MSG) workplaces as the Company commemorated the 81st anniversary of Indonesia’s independence. From the Head Office in Jakarta to the PT Global Papua Abadi (GPA) and PT Murni Nusantara Mandiri (MNM) sites in Merauke, the celebrations unfolded in a warm and cheerful atmosphere, bringing employees closer together.
From the Jakarta Head Office: Red and White Across the Workspace
The celebrations began at the Jakarta Head Office on 14 August 2026. The office, usually busy with day-to-day work, came alive with red-and-white decorations throughout.
Through the Workspace Decoration Competition, each division put its creativity to work in decorating its respective area. Beyond the decorations, a spirit of friendly competition filled the Inter-Division Games, with employees taking part enthusiastically. Laughter, cheers, and encouragement among colleagues made the celebration at the office truly special.
GPA Site: From a Solemn Ceremony to Joyful Celebrations
The spirit of independence continued at the GPA site on 17 August 2026. The day began with a solemn Flag-Raising Ceremony, providing a moment to honor the struggles of the past and reflect on the hard-won freedom the nation enjoys today.
After the ceremony, the atmosphere became more relaxed and lively. A range of games involving employees provided an opportunity to have fun, compete in good spirit, and strengthen camaraderie amid the daily work routine.
MNM Site: One Day, Many Stories
On the same day, the Independence Day celebration at the MNM site was equally spirited. A variety of competitions brought a sense of friendly competition, balanced with plenty of laughter and camaraderie.
Cheers and support from fellow employees made every game more exciting. It was never just about who won, but about celebrating the day together and enjoying a welcome break from the everyday routine.
From Jakarta to Merauke, One Shared Spirit
MSG’s celebration of Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day showed that independence can be celebrated in many ways. In Jakarta, it came through creativity and teamwork across divisions; in Merauke, through the flag-raising ceremony, games, and togetherness on site.
