MERAUKE SUGAR GROUP CONTINUES SOCIAL COMMITMENT THROUGH EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND SOCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR SOUTH PAPUA COMMUNITIES 

Merauke, June 30, 2026 — Support for improving education quality and community welfare is part of Merauke Sugar Group (MSG) sustainability commitment in creating shared value for communities in around the operational areas. Through its business entity, PT Global Papua Abadi, the company consistently implements various social responsibility programs that contribute to social development in Merauke, South Papua.

Throughout June 2026, the company implemented a number of initiatives focused on strengthening the education sector and providing social assistance to communities

In the education field, the company collaborated with Musamus University (Unmus) Merauke to support improved learning quality through a literacy program (reading, writing, and arithmetic). This program provided mentoring to Class IV and V students at SD Inpres Senayu in Senayu Village and supported the implementation of special literacy classes at SD Inpres Tambat, Tambat Village.

In addition to supporting the education sector, the company also continues to strengthen relationships with communities through various community social activities, such as distribution of food aid (BAMA) to the family of Marga Basik-Basik Nazlik in Salor Village as well as condolence assistance to the family of the late Kasimirus Gebze in Semangga Satu Village.

Through these various initiatives, Merauke Sugar Group strives to provide sustainable contributions to community social development while strengthening harmonious and mutually supportive relationships with stakeholders around the operational areas. In line with the company’s sustainability commitment, these social programs are expected to provide long-term benefits for improving community quality of life while supporting inclusive and sustainable development in South Papua.
